Dr Abul K Khan, PhD

Dr. Khan is a highly esteemed Senior Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician and an Accredited Clinical Social Worker in the Mental Health Clinical Speciality Division of AASW. With over 25 years of international experience in practice, teaching, and research, Dr. Khan is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for children, adolescents, and families.

Currently serving as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University, Dr. Khan has conducted significant research, including a master-level international comparative study on substance abuse management at Queens’ University Belfast. He has also completed a Ph.D. focusing on “Re-visioning child protection management embedded in family empowerment,” providing a new perspective on public child protection through compassion and parental empowerment.

Passionate about promoting a compassion-based capacity-building approach, Dr. Khan specialises in managing anxiety, stress, and depression. His contributions to the field are reflected in his numerous published papers on mental health and child protection.
